In the 2011-2012 season, Donn debuted as Major General Stanley in Pirates of Penzance as a guest artist with Modesto Junior College, performed the role of Wicked Weasler in Ugh the Duck for UC Merced, and returned to Townsend Opera as Ko-Ko in The Mikado. Previously with Townsend, Donn’s roles include Njegus in The Merry Widow, Fiorello in Barber of Seville, Sir Joseph Porter in H.M.S. Pinafore, The Page in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Peter in Hansel and Gretel, and Monostatos in The Magic Flute. At California State University, Stanislaus, Donn was featured as Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors, Papageno in The Magic Flute, Miles Gloriosus in A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum, MacHeath in Threepenny Opera, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, and The Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance. Donn is also at home on the concert stage, as a soloist and narrator. Major works sung professionally include the bass soli in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with VITA Academy, and in Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with Simpson University. Narrations for the Modesto Symphony Orchestra include Façade by William Walton, New Horizons in Music Appreciation by Pete Schickele, The Composer is Dead by Snicket/Stookey, and Sleepy Hollow by Steven Reineke. Donn was a Division winner in the 1998 San Joaquin NATS solo vocal competition. Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, Donn studied voice at CSU, Stanislaus with Joe Miller, Ruth Christensen, Constance Weichert, and Joseph Wiggett.
